So I'm looking at possibly getting a 99 polaris sks 700 but know nothing about them so any help would be great.

The SKS would be a Switchback these days. It's got a longer track than the trail sleds, but the lug isn't as deep as an RMK. It's also a bit wider than the RMK in the same year. The 700 will come with Keihin D-slide carbs and probably has ACCS which may or may not have been disconnected. The non-VES engine will have the less potent but more durable 824 cylinders. The SKS (Snow King Special) was the deep snow sled before Polaris started building the RMK.

ACCS is the altitude compensator, supposedly you don't need to change jets for elevation changes. There were two different cylinders used for those non-VES 700's. The "220" cylinders were the better performers, but the "824's" were more durable.

Gonna be set up for ice fishing. Should be good for it's purpose!

Most snowmobile problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars to the seat.
