Best Helmet for someone who wears glasses

Hello everybody.
I recently purchased a snowmobile, and have not ridden for many years. I have a high quality full face helmet for riding a motorcycle. The shield fogs up immediately when riding, and also my glasses. I find myself riding with the shield open most of the time. I started looking for snowmobile specific helmets, and there is a lot of information and a lot of different options out there. I'm wondering if I could get some good advice as to a good brand and model of helmet that's going to be effective for a guy who wears glasses like myself. Thank you very much, I'm interested in hearing peoples opinions.

A modular helmet works very well for us 4 eyes. Motorcycle helmets are single pane shields and will fog. Snowmobile are double shielded. You can also get an electric shield which would keep it from fogging.

As far as brand and model, you need to try them on. Different brands fit different shaped heads... I use an HJC IS-MAX modular.

It's also helpful to have a breath deflector. It will help keep the shield and your glasses clear.

Thanks for the input. Are modulars the only style with a breath deflector? Can a breath deflector be purchased separately?

Breath deflectors can be purchased separately, and can be used in any full face helmet. They are held in with velcro and are easy to install and remove as needed.

I use a full face Polaris helmet (not modular.) Mine is similar to this one

http://www.purepolaris.com/en-us/Sno...fitment=helmet

The nose guard has exhaust valves to take your exhaled breath out of the helmet. The AF stands for Anti-Fogging. It works well for about 2 years, then the nose cup starts to wear and the seal isn't as good. I still like it, though

Moto-cross style helmets with goggles are another option, there are goggles that fit over glasses fairly well. I have tried those, if the weather is nasty, they fog big time. On nicer days, I like the moto-cross style because the brim of the helmet can act as a sun shield.

For me, I prefer the modular style because it means that I can put the helmet on without having to remove my glasses.
Also nicer when you stop and want to talk you do not have to do the push up or remove thing.

Modular is what I use - even before I needed glasses...

Having said that, I would HIGHLY recommend getting contacts if you can. I have only had them for a year now, but they gave me my life back!!! Glasses restricted what I could do, and they seriously impaired my peripheral vision. With my new contacts, I can see as well as before I hit the 40 mark. I still need to wear readers for close-up, but I can't say enough good about being able to ride the snowmobile, or dirtbike, without having to wrestle with a pair of glasses.

Tried a cheap modular and, although it was nice to not have to take my glasses off to put the helmet on, it fogged up my glasses because the breath deflector never fit correctly. Now I have an HJC that has a flexible metal tab used to custom form the breath deflector around your nose and face. Its design allows you to easily put your glasses on with the helmet on and breath deflector in place. This one works great but I still need to keep my glasses away from my eyes or they get fogged up eventually from the moisture in my eyes.
