i have a 86 indy 500 polaris snowmobile and i need to get into the intake box to clean it out how would i do this

There should be metal clips that hold the upper half to the lower half. Just pop those clips off. I used a small screw driver to get behind the clip. I forget how many there are, 6 - 8. Providing they're all there. They tend to end up in the belly pan.....
