1990 ski doo safari lc info

Hey all, I am looking at a 90 safari lc 462. I can't seem to find a lot of info on this sled. I am familiar with the 377 fan version but not the liquid. Is the 462 a good engine? What kind of speed can I expect from this thing? Longevity. Any info you can give me is greatly appreciated. A guy wants to swap this with 4000km for my 86 phazer with 8000km. Condition being equal, this sounds like a good deal for me.?

The 462 engine is as near bullet proof as any small block can be.
Good torque and should be faster than that Phazer was and with a better ride.

Overall good sled. Rear suspensions were the weak link on those sleds.

Wow, you guys are real sled heads! Lol. I didn't expect any replies till after christmas. Thanks for the help. I have found this forum very helpful as a newbie to the sport. Hope to go look at the safari tomorrow. Merry Christmas.

So I did the swap today and in the process I learned something about myself. The phazer was in absolute mint shape, engine bay is clean, everything worked excellent and had plastic skis. Engine was snappy and really performed well. The safari seems to run good after initial warmup but need a few things: clutches have oxidation and need cleaned, seat needs repair, one of the springs in the skid is broken and there is no battery for the electric start...I'm sure I'll find more. Ok so here is the thing, I was more excited about getting into this thing and fixing all the little quirks than riding the phazer that needed nothing. Thanks for the info and I'm sure to be asking lots of questions in the future.
