Planning a ride for Saturday. Our snow here isn't great, but a half hour away they have about a foot and haven't had any rain.

Gonna be set up for ice fishing. Should be good for it's purpose!
Most snowmobile problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars to the seat.

Our trails here in Wisconsin will probably open after we get all this snow, right now i'd say we have an inch or two of real wet snow, but its supposed to firm up later and they are calling for about 4-12" here with mostly freezing temps for the next 5-10 days

I rode yesterday. Conditions are good here in Utah, but we could still use one more good storm for cover. I ran across a m7 in the backcountry that was missing a ski..... The stump won.

No riding here.
Polk county trails are closed until we get more snow.
St. Croix county is open still, but the trails are pretty bare.
Last round of snow was well south of here, nothing forecast in the next 10 days...

It's 50 out here too. All the snow is now a 1.5" thick sheet of ice. Wtf happened. If next winter isnt any better, I'm moving to the north pole.

We have 3" of snow and now it's raining as we speak. Supposed to continue tonite and into tomorrow morning. They say some sleet will be thrown in there too. Still haven't left the yard with any sleds.
Was in Hurley WI Tuesday nite for my daughters b-ball game. They had quite a bit of snow. Actually looked like winter over there.....

We're getting pounded... supposed to get 10 inches on the valley floor, and a lot more in the higher elevations. So I fired the sleds up for the first time this winter... ran up the road on the 4+ already on the ground, stopped at the end of the road, turned to my left, and there's a Sheriff in an F150 stopped right next to me. He was cool though... gave me the mandatory safety talk, and let me be on my way. Registration expired last month too, and he didn't say a thing about it. I thanked him...

Sorry to hear some areas still haven't got much snow, I was under the impression it was better in the USA/Canada this winter .... we had a much better autumn this year in Sweden, and some people were riding by December. Week up to Xmas was best but it was mostly powder all the way. The ices were on the way, and then it rained for 3 days between Xmas and NY .... has snowed some more since then, so now we have excellent hero snow But the ices have not fully recoverered, some lakes OK, some not.
We took the sleds out for the first time today, anxious to see if my b/f would be OK riding, after a v bad accident in early June, that left him with multiple fractures to his right leg and ankle. It was -20C and we hadn't started the sleds since mid Oct, so they were having none of it, but a heat gun soon brought some life back to them Snow depth at the cabin about 50cm. Which I think is about a foot and a half?? Just went for a short spin, there were tracks going out over the middle of the ice on the lake below the cabin but we kept to the edge just in case. No water on the ice at least.
Might go out again tomorrow as the forecast is for sun (as today) but "only" -15C. And if it stays cold all week, the lakes should be good to go for a longer ride next weekend Wishing you all a snowy 2013

Well, count another "storm" that completely fell apart before it got to us. We were in the 6 to +12" range that they forecasted. I can see grass outside...

Snow is gone here too. Rain and above freezing temps did in what little we had. Can't even ride around the yard......... Trails should have a good ice base. Driveways and gravel roads are skating rinks........
