Ha So true. Generally most synthetics are really good. I will say that in fan cooled vintage sleds I run we used to run a normal mineral oil and cook through motors regularly. I've since switched to amsoil dominator and haven't burned up a motor in 5 years. Just personal experience.

Either the Doo oil or about any synth! Amzoil is fine, not the best! And certainly not the most expencise! I run it because it is THE easyist to find!

With you on that! Been there, ran that. Unfortunately, everyone and their mother these days is an Amsoil dealer, that stuff is pretty much the only 2 cycle snowmobile oil that I can get a hold of without having to go for a drive to get my preferred oil.

I'd run Klotz if I could get it. Stuff isn't easy to find here in Minnesota.

I used to run Klotz but after realizing I would get a headache after every ride I swtiched to synthetic xps in my 2003 doo, then I ran it in my 2009 800R and now that I have a 2012 XRS 800 etec I'll also run it, works great, but pricey

I might have to go get some of that. Was running cheap 2cycle that was 5-6 a quart! Gallon would last all season... And prob longer for me.
