Will this track last the season??

Hi all just trying to get an opinion on whether this track will last the 1000 miles on plan to put on it this year. I am an aggressive rider but dont pound the hell out of the machine. I am worried about the track ripping thru the heat exchanger.

What wear percentage would you consider this at, and would you take the chance? I am no pro and knowing when tracks are not worn but SHOT

also would it be better to remove the outer studs if i can get them out??

Pcitures here ski doo track

thanks

That track looks ok, looks like it has had some studs pull through which happens. I would say removing the outer studs would help. As far as your fear of the heat exchanger being punctured as long as you have good enough head exchanger protectors you should be ok. Don't know if it would be worth installing on a sled if it isn't already on there though

Yep take off the outer ones, even if you have to cut them! There is a tool to 'Port' the track! It bassicaly cuts a like 1 1/2" hole in the track! The only difference is it kinda melts it way threw, sealing the edges! I would take a torch or soldering gun and go around all the edges of the pull outs!

My ZR track looked just like that 2 years ago. I started throwing studs out of the middle of the track during the season 2 years ago, so I took all the studs out. I probably put 1200 miles on it before pulling the rest of the studs.

Is that your track for sale, or are you buying it?

Thanks for all the replys, that track is on the sled I was just using craigslist to host the photos....

I feel better and will pull the outer studs and melt the rips with a solder gun.
I honestly didnt know how long that track might last but now I have an idea

I read somewhere about a easy way to remove studs with a bolt cutters, cutting the nut somehow.... ring any bells?
