Confused - So many choices

I am looking to sell one of my sleds. I am selling my 2007 Yamaha Phazer FX. No one in my family likes the seat on this unit. My son wants a crossover with a longer track. All I want is a wider seat for my old butt. I have narrowed down some choices.

2006 Cat Crossfire Sno Pro 700
2008 Yamaha Apex 1000
2005 Ski Doo Rev Renegade 800
2007 Cat Jaguar Z1
2004 Ski Doo Summit 800
2005 Ski Doo Mach Z
2007 Cat F8
2009 Polaris Switchback Dragon

All of these are in my price range. Now this is where I am getting confused. I have two Yamahas and they have been great but my son wants something other than Yamaha. I have a good friend who is a mechanic and he tells me out of this list to avoid Polaris completely and that those years of Ski Doo had bad engines (He was a BRP Mechanic for years and is now an Arctic Cat mechanic). The Apex is the most expensive of the sleds on my list and is the heaviest unit also. What are your thoughts and opinions on the sleds above and which one would you choose?

The XF7 would be a good all around sled! If you could find a 2010 XF800r it would be hands down even better!

I did find a 2009 Crossfire 1000 for 7500.00 but that is a little more than what I was wanting to spend. Is it worth the extra money? I was looking to spend max 6500.00 once I sell my Phazer FX.

AC Diamond Drives tended to have problems esp on a high hp sled like a 1,000
