Question 95 polaris engine runs but the track wont spin

i have a 95 polaris indy 500. it ran good for a year. then i took it to full throttle repair to get it looked at because it only started with starting fluid, when i got the sled back they told me it had excellent compression, and that it needed a needed a head gasket and a fuel pump.so i brought it home started it up(to make sure it wasn't worse when i got it back) and i got it started but the track wouldn't move. so i called them and they told me it wasn't getting enough fuel. so i replaced the fuel pump and head gasket. the engine runs great now.(still have to start it with starting fluid tho). the track still doesn't spin unless i pick it up odd the ground. and even then it spins very slow when the engine is running at full power. any suggestions?

Things to check...

worn belt, sticky/dirty primary clutch, broken spring in secondary clutch, belt deflection too great. I would consider the drive train if the engine is running great. Rule out those things, then consider cleaning the carbs. Lots of times, plugged jets in the carbs won't allow the engine to make power.

Does it bog or anything of that nature? Or run the motor while it idols and feel the exhaust pipes and see if one is warmer then the other and that will determine if its running on both cylinders.

with the back of the sled propped up and the engine off, is the track easy to turn by hand?

pump grease into all fittings. there (i believe) is a fitting under the secondary that goes to the jackshaft. make shuretrack is aligned and not too tight. all of this is on youtube do your research!

One is warmer then the other after 15 minutes of running? They both should be close to the same temp or at the same temp. Check plugs/clean carbs.

and I was the one that kept telling him to clean the carbs!

So clean your carbs, jets, etc. Adjust carbs propertly...

Can you turn the track by hand or spin the secondary by hand?
