The other day, I was at the dealer to pick up a few things and looked at a used 07 F6 with reverse and of course the got me thinking... maybe just sell both sleds and get her something with reverse. I don't think I can afford something that new and am wondering what the pre 07 sleds with reverse are all about.

For example, I've seen 05-06 F6's with reverse (and some others) and wonder if the mechanical style reverse is something crappy rig and just good enough or if they were good and don't just add more crap that can go wrong.

We are not "brand snobs" by any means, but prefer to stick with cat because we've already invested green riding gear. My budget would be $3500 or preferably less if I dump both and buy something.

Any suggestions?

The reverse gear chaincases in the older sleds are a pretty simple and reliable design. $3500 can by a decent sled with reverse.

You can just add rev very simply by buying the cover and gears! The kit is about $300-350!

Had mechanical reverse in both my 2000 Cats. Worked well, but added weight. The e-reverse that I have on my '04 Polaris is real sweet!!! No extra weight, and works very well.

I got mine at Hay Days! Try searching Ebay and Hard Core Sleder and Arctic Chat classifieds! Also look at parted out sleds with rev! You will want a 6 bolt cover! If you find a Pantera it will have rev stock as well as the 01 T Cat!
