I am about to tear down the engine in a '74 SKIROULE RTX. It is a KOHLER 340 F/C twin. To do this, I must first remove the exhaust manifold from the heads of this engine. It appears that the part of manifold coming out of head(s) is just pressed in, but I don't want to assume this and find out otherwise after I have damaged or broken something. Any help would be appreciated.

They are probably threaded into the heads. The Kohler 2 stroke manual suggests not removing them if you don't have to. (Item 11 on page 10.5 in the manual) Here's a link to the manual.

I read that too but there is no collar to remove on my machine so must be a different model referred to in manual.
