Question Anyone ever just polish pipes? not paint them

So I have a nice set of PSI pipes i want to clean up.

I recently picked up a cool little sandblaster that i have been shooting low silica black sand though while restoring my car. Works pretty good also used alum oxide as well.

My question is what kind of results would i end up with if i just wanted to totally strip them to bare metal and just polish the crap out of them versus
stripping them and ceramic coating them which is alot more pricey $$$$

Anyone see any obvious downsides or reasons this will be a fail? help me now! lol.

Whats everyone's opinion?

I believe the heat/cool cycles will just make them rust even more?

high heat clear? never seen any, but it would look cool. used to bake clear on small block chevy intake manifolds back in the day. looked good for awhile and way less heat than the exhaust.

my local powder coater has a high heat black finish that held up well last season. may be a money saving option for you to blast yours out and opt for a coating like this.

Tempering them with veggie oil would prevent rust after polishing.
Get the pipes hot, coat with oil and let cool, then bake them again to help the oil fill the surface pores.
