kicking around the idea.

I've been kicking around the idea of possibly selling my older sled and stepping into a new 2010 or 2011 "non current" Arctic Cat 800 crossfire, don't want the Sno pro. I called a dealer today and he still has some 2011 models in stock. The question I would like to know is, what would be a fair price on an older model like that? He asked what I wanted to spin. And has anyone rode them? And what to look out for? Like any recall? And reliability. I just want a standard track and a standard sled, nothing to sexy. And should I stay with carbs or go efi?

thanks for any insight

For a 2011, I would say chop a couple thousand off the original price and that is about ordinary. Realy depends on the # of miles on it to though. AC hasen't made a carb sled of that caliber for years so you don't need to worry about that. If given the choice, go with efi imo.

Tells ya how long It's been since I looked at a new sled, the guy at the dealer said that it would probably be around $10,000 and asked me if that's what I wanted to spend and I told him to try around $7,000/$7,500 and he said that he would get back with me.

He was down with the price I threw at'em for a brand new 0miles and said that he wanted to talk it over with his boss, and I understand I can find a super nice one for that price but I have a hard time with buying used when it comes to a toy.

I know right, I know they won't go for it, unless they counter offer or want to push a deal and move them off the floor.

Yeah 10k is way too much. I got my 2011 f8 sno pro for $9400 at the end of the snow season (2011). I can't see the crossfire (non sno pro) being more $. All of the 800 h.o. motors (2010 & 2011) had an ecu fuel map recall. Most dealers should have that taken care of by now if its a brand new left over. If not they should be able to do it in 20 minutes. Im pretty sure cat doesn't even offer the 800 with carbs. I love my f8. Different suspension than the crossfire (non sno pro) but the power plants are the same. Plenty of power thats for sure!!! I don't really have any complaints yet other than the factory carbides suck. I know your not looking for many bells or whistles but I would get electric start if you can. Its takes a good strong yank to pull start that 800.

I went to the dealer today and was looking at the 2011 Crossfire 800 HO and he said that they would give me a $1000 rebaite and bring the price down to the "snow show" price and waver the set up or prep charges and I would be looking at $10,000 to get into it. And it don't have electric start but does have reverse witch I'm sure is standard.

I paid $8300 for my new left over 2011 F8 Sno Pro ltd last year mid season when I blew my ZRT800 engine. Call K&W cycle in Utica Mi. They were $2000 less than every other dealer in MI.

Where is this dealer? Just curious. I have a dealer near me that also says I made a good offer, but when you go to seal the deal, the price is back to the original price!

So I call K&W cycle here in Michigan and told the guy I was looking for a non current crossfire 800, and he said that they didn't have any and the onlything they had left over was the 2012 800 Sno pro 50th anniversary with a 128'' track for $10,500..

Wow... Surprised to hear that. He cut me an unbelievable deal last year. Mine was one of two F8 ltd's. the other was a demo that was sold first. Apparently, they made enough money from the demo, because he said they cost shared that one and mine. All I know is that it pays to call EVERY DEALER within reasonable driving distance. Somebody will have a deal.
