Good news for NY sledders!!

BIG NEWS!!

The NYS DMV has made Online Snowmobile Registration available for New York State Residents, effective today!

https://transact.dmv.ny.gov/registrationrenew/?stype=s < NYS Residents

NYS Registration for Out-of-State Snowmobiles < Out of State Registrants

I was able to register my sled with DMV ** today **.. and print out the “Temporary Certificate of Snowmobile Registration”. So if there were a trail open.. I could ride.. ** today **!!!

Please publicize this information far and wide, on your websites and in your newsletters. The more folks that use this fast and easy way to renew their snowmobile registration, the faster the Snowmobile Trail Fund money comes in, the better off all of our Clubs will be this Winter!

And please remind everyone they can join their club or renew online by going to New York State Snowmobile Association and clicking on the BIG GREEN BUTTON at the upper left.

We can now join a club and register our sleds seven days a week!!

We have been using that kind of system in Colorado for a few years now.
It's easy, quick and if you get an early snowstorm you have your permits in hand and ready to go.

We can register by computer, but have to wait for the year sticker in the mail. The sticker goes on the decal plate that's on the sled. Cost is $10 for two years, so that's not bad .

We've had a similar system for many many years.

yeah, we had that system for a number of yers here in nova scotia, but we have to wait for it in the mail, but legally if we do get stopped we just tell them to look it up, and we get away scott free!
