Camoplast Energy Track - Thoughts?

Hi All,

I just picked up another sled. It's a '97 Indy Trail in fantastic condition - just needs a new track.

I'm looking at the Camoplast Energy w/ 1" lugs. Does anyone have experience with this track?

I can pick up a new one at a steal of a price. I think it will be great for the groomed trails and occaisonal lake crossings that I do, especially with 96 studs up the middle.

Not that I'm cheap by any means, however I just can't justify spending $400+ on a Hacksaw for a 488 fan sled.

I think any good track that's a "steal" will work fine on that sled. I would go by cost, too! Cheaper is better, especially for that fan. It's not like you have the HP to tear the track in half

Don't mean to bring up the dead, but was curious if there is more feedback on this track?

I've been doing a lot of research for a 15" x 121" track, and this doesn't look bad at all. People have been suggesting the Ripsaw, but that's all I see torn apart and up on craigslist, so I'm looking for something that is going to be more durable than that track, but at least a 1" lug.

GOOD track reviews seem to be scarce to come by on the web. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be much of a resource here at this time regarding detailed track reviews.

In my mind, something like this or a Kimpex Ultimate Traxtion is something that would have more traction than a Kimpex Shotgun X or a Ripsaw. To me, "spread fingers" through snow don't grab as much snow as a closed hand would.

My RX1 has a ripsaw. Great traction. I've never heard anything bad about them till the above post.

Those ripsaws are what I have seen all over craigslist, and torn up pretty bad, which is why I'm leaning towards more of a solid paddle rather than their "finger" type paddles.

Just bought a 2012 F8 that comes with a ripsaw track from the factory. I personally haven't had the chance to ride a sled with a ripsaw, but a buddy of mine put a ripsaw on his sled and did see it in action and from what I could see, it looked pretty wicked. and my buddy says he swears by it.

See my attached, this is why I won't go with the ripsaw. Appears to be fairly common when I'm looking at barely used tracks.
