2005 Kawasaki KFX 400

I am basically wanting to get more information about these quads. I found one at a garage sale which has been sitting for a year. They jumped it and it started, but wouldn't stay running. Would that be a battery issue? Also, how much would it be worth to pay and still make money if I would decide to resell? It has 121 hours on it and it has reverse. It looks pretty clean for the year, has some rust places and the plastic is dirty and only had one stress mark. For a quad is a registration the same thing as a title? This had a registration, but not a title.

Ahh. I just bought the exact quad this spring. Great bike! I just got done changing some stuff and rejetting. If it wouldn't stay running, it's probably a carb issue. These bikes have no need for a battery other than to start them. You should know that these are built by Suzuki motor corp. and are the EXACT same bike as the Z or LTZ400 and the Arctic cat DVX400. Only differences are the plastics.

Some will say the frames are too light/have issues, but that is just something you are going to have to deal with. If it wasn't ridden too hard, it should be alright.

As for price, around here you'd need to get it under $2000. Any more and you can get some really nice running bikes.

A link to a pic of mine: http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...59419124_n.jpg
I paid $2200 and it came with a slip on exhaust and 3 sets of tires.

Can I ask how you know how many hours are on it? I don't think I have one/can't find one.

Ok so it sounds like these are good bikes from what I've read. I just know that there aren't as many around for sale as the Honda 400exs. My friend was the one who drove it, because he knows more about them then me, but I think he may have just shut it off to see if it would restart. It seems in pretty good shape, the only thin was on the rear swing arm(I think) there was some oil build up and the front a arms have rust. It's all stock which I like, except for the hour meter? They said they wanted 1500 firm but I was going to ask 1300 since it needs a service and battery. Do you know if they require titles or if a registration would work? Yours looks like this one, I don't know why but I like this green color.

The hour meter was right in front of the handle bars, on a little ledge.
