1972 skidoo oylimpic 399cc Drive axle bearing installation???

hey there everyone I have been restoring a 72 skidoo oylimpic 399 for a while off and on and now Im pretty much ready to get this thing done and take it to some shows!

But...
I noticed one of the drive axle bearings are completly locked and the other has sandy crap in it so i managed to get them off.... have to buy some new ones with the seals however i dont know how to get them back on....

any ideas?
I dont like the socket idea because i dont want to damage the new bearing and is there anything i should know about lining up the bearings in the proper area?

any imput is appreciated!!!

get a piece of pipe that will slide over the shaft and tap it on. if you get the shaft cleaned up good they should almost slide on, apply some never sieze to the shafts and you won't have a problem removing them if you ever need to again.

Once you get the shaft out and the lock collar off, the bearing should slide off. Then sand paper the shaft and the new one will slide on! Position the new bearing flush with the end of the shaft, with the lock collar to the center!
