2013 Polaris Pro-RMK SNEAK PEEK

Not sure how many of you on here have been following this, but I thought I'd post it for others' benefit.

Over the past week, Polaris has been unveiling their 2013 Pro-RMK a little bit at a time. Lighter, stronger, and more powerful, (weight around 400lbs, increased use of structural bonding, and projected 5-10hp gain) this sled will be the king of Rocky Mountain Kings!

Full release is February 10th, with the rest of the 2013 Polaris sleds scheduled for unveiling on March 4th!

I've been watching it too. I got to ride a 2012 last weekend. I didn't even want to get on my pro x2 after that. I can't wait until next year when I can afford one of these. Can you say "Snowcheck"

My cousin posted some of it on facebook. The belt drive system seems like it could be good, but it would also make it harder for the guys who like to play with gearing to do so. Supposed to be lighter than all of the components of a standard chaincase.

Most snowmobile problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars to the seat.

Good point about the gearing. I'm not sure how it would work. It's not like when you drop a tooth you change the chain too. Why wouldn't you be able to change gearing with a belt instead of a chain?
anybody have an answer

I don't see why not. If different sized belts aren't made available, I'm sure Polaris or some aftermarket will eventually offer different pulleys. You'd just have to change both to maintain the correct tension.

Should be much easier to work on! Saves a bunch of weight too, wonder how well it will hold up next year.

It looks amazing. just over 400lbs on a 155. That is light. I like how the heat exchanger is covered in the front now. It looks amazing, it is amazing. I want one

It would be cool to order one with a 121 IQR skid in it. I have no mountains here but i like 417lbs and that seat!

belt drive is cool

my guess is they will wait to see if it turns into a success or nightmare for polaris. Then decide after a year.

Seems logical. Try it out in the sleds that generally take the most abuse, if it works out, offer it in the trail sleds. It looks like a pretty solid system to me, but then again what do I know.
