98 Arctic Cat ZR 600 EFI

I found one for sale locally with 4100 miles. It hasn't been run in over 3 years and of course they couldn't get it running. Would it be a good deal for $600 obo, because that's what they are asking. I was hoping to check it out after work today, but want some opinions. I haven't dealt with an efi before so is there anything extra to look for? I was going to check compression and spark. Also how would you clean the fuel system in an efi?

I am new to EFI as well. I bought a 1994 prowler with EFI. EFI is a lot of fun it makes your engine so responsive. I to had to clean my sled. I took off the throttle body ass. and dismantled everything. It has a fuel rail, injectors, and throttle bodys. It was very easy to clean a lot less then carbs. A suggesstion is when you take appart the fuel rail and injectrs make sure you replace all o-rings and insulators on both. Then I took off the seat and drained the fuel. While I was at it I replaced my fuel line and clamps. The whole thing was cheep and took about 4 hrs and that was because I am new to it. Not much to look for with the efi just make sure all the wires are solid and you must have a solid batery with 12volts. The only thing I have noticed is the sensors are expensive to replace, but you should be able to buy used stuff reasonable. Read up on this site about your sled their is a lot of info and it is helpfull. Good luck it sounds like a good deal offer 400 wher it does not run. By the way when it does run hang on tite!!

It's not a BAD price BUT not knowing whats wrong can become costly. If they are asking $600 I bet they will take $500 Little things add up (plugs, belt, battery etc) Try to check track, idler wheels etc too

$500 would be a good offer. As long as the compression is good, buy it. Whether it has major problems or not doesn't matter... a good running engine will go for $500 EASY so you can't lose money.

A great sled! Yeah $500 is fair! EFI is simple! Start with the LED!

Well it sold before I even got off work, so I guess it was a good deal. I really like the looks of the sled, even though some may not like the green. Hopefully there is another deal out there.
