Not illegal to my knowledge; used to do it all the time. However not comfortable either! Seat jacks are definitely a must if you want to double regularly. Never heard of a penalty for anybody getting caught and I am on Lake Simcoe where there is normally a lot of sleds and cops!

I think it be a question of comfort rather than legality.

it will be my first snOwmObile so I don't know much
I know from owning a 1 Person atv it wasn't legal to have two people on it
then my father bought a two up and we found out it was still illegal in cAnada to ride with two people on any kind of atv
hopefully it's not the same with snowmobiles

why dont you check with the authorities?

I can see it now, "the guys on the snowmobile board said it was okay" you will be telling the cop as he writes you a ticket.

Find out for sure from those in charge.

If you have not bought a snowmobile yet, find a cheap 2-up. That way 2 people fit, and a lot of them have racks and hitches too.
