I have just bought a few exciters within a week or twos time. 1987, 1989 and a 1992. Just wondering if they a reliable? the 1987 is a rideable sled but you yamaha guys know that their running boards were cheaply made back then so mine are bent a lil on each sled. I really dont care much, otherwise the sled is pretty nice. It was a farmer kid that owned it before me with the 1989 and they must have been beat to snot. The belly pan is a lil dented up on the 87, but the 1989 is much better but not complete. Missing the rear suspension because yamahas suspension back then sucked and always need to be replaced so the suspension that was in the 89 went into the 87. The 92 is pretty decent and was a shocker because i bought it for 140 plus it came with a 1989 ovation. The ovation is going to be watercrossed because its gunna be kick ass to see that damn thing sink in a shallow mud pond! I plan on doing it, but Yamahass440 and Big Z plan on helping me out with that whole deal. The 92 exciter has a bad track, skis are shot , and when i bought the sled, it had 3 mole looking things in the coolant bottle! Anyways, the thing fired up in 5 pulls full choke after sitting for awhile which really surprised me! In total though, i only spent 240 on all four sleds. Good deal or no? Let me know what you guys got to say!
