My grandpa said that they've always had better luck with 318's than 360's in the numerous vehicles that he's owned in his life, which is too many to even attempt to count. Even in the newer Magnum series of mopar engines, the 318 only has 10 hp less than a 360. My uncle and dad totally rebuilt this motor probably 10 years ago but it has under 10k on the rebuild. They went through EVERYTHING on it, so I'm sure it'll hold up for a good long while. I'm going to definitely keep an eye on everything though and take as good of care of it as I can.
I also got another mower today for free. It's a Ranch King made by MTD. Has a '98 16.5 hp Briggs opposed twin on it that dropped a cylinder. I'm not sure how much money I'll have left after our trip this week, but if I've got enough I'll order the rebuild kit and get her goin again. I gave it a quick once over before the rain hit and it seems to be in good shape, although it's missing the hood. Hydro drive that works good according to the guy I got it from. It's got a 42'' deck on it also. After I get it running I might have to keep it and use to mow with. I probably can't sell it without a hood, so why not.

My uncle had a 318 in his truck it wasnt stock by any means but that thing took crazy abuse and never had a problem and by abuse i mean every single stop sign he takes off full throttle and when he passes somebody he doesnt let off the gas until the speedo is above 100 we've hit 120 on the way to the dragstrip before. it made it about 80,000 miles being constantly driven like that then 2 weeks ago the nitrious wasnt working right and pretty much destroyed the engine.

My grandpa got a '99 Ram 1500 early this winter with a 318 in it. It had nitrous set up on it at some point. Has somewhere around 145k on it. It has a built up (not just rebuilt) tranny and t-case with like 2k miles on them. He got a pretty good deal on the truck at $4500. It's black, CLEAN interior, chrome nerf bars, tonneau cover, etc. He doesn't drive it a whole lot in the summer other than to pull his 22' boat, but he loved having it this winter instead of their two minivans. I really like 318's. If the motor ever goes on the '85, I'll probably find a 318 to put in. I like the fact that lots of people think they're too small but they can make some serious power when you set em up right.

I got this one from a guy at church. My dad told him about my lawn mower escapades and when he blew this one up asked me if I wanted it to try fix it. The motor on it looks practically brand new. Code indicates it was mfg in 1998. Kinda sucks it doesn't have a hood, but the price was right. My MTD I got from my grandpa for free as well. The Craftsman is the only one I actually had to pay for.
Yea, the 360 Magnum's are pretty good motors. My uncle has a '98 Ram 1500 as well with the 360. He's got dual straights on it...even the diehard chevy fanatics at school will admit you can't beat the sound of a straight piped 360.

Uh, I would ask 100.
And be prepared to take 50 for it.
The engine isn't worth 200, it's maybe worth 50-75 bucks. The best part of the sled is the hood
