Hi, newbie Australian here

Hi. I'm looking at buying a 2nd hand skidoo for a bit of backcountry touring around Lake Tahoe.

Would anyone know if the ski doo needs to be registered at the California and/or Nevada DMV or with State or National Parks.

Do you need a Californian drivers licence to drive them, or will my Australian drivers licence be ok?

Thanks

No, normally if you have a valid driver's license that is good enough to drive a snowmobile.
California snowmobiles must be registered at the Dept of Motor Vehicles under the OSV (over snow vehicle) program.

I'm waiting on a couple of leads to firm up into a sale so thanks for the heads up on the registration. Renting them is highway robbery.

Sure they do, way down south and Tazmania. We've had a couple over the past years looking for advice in mtn sleds.
