The only known issues was a problem with some of the early release Etecs they resolved it with a reflash so just be sure if your looking at one of those that this update is done. other than that they are good to go.

The 08's also had a driveshaft replacement recall that has also since been fixed on newer models. AWESOME sleds.

If your looking at just a 2009 mxz there amazing. My dad and I both have them and been 100% good. Nothing wrong. fast, great in the woods, and you cant even notice all the small bumps trails get. I say go get one. Now the e-tech on the other hand i have only heard good things, but I do not personally know. O yea, the regular mxz gets about 18 mpg and hardly drinks any oil for a 2 stroke.
