squirrel nest inside sled

I took the shrouds off my sled yesterday and realized a squirrel had tried to make it's nest in my engine area. He chewed up almost all of the insulation but left the wires alone (I think). How do other people stop these pests?

I used a .410 shotgun. I missed. Jez, how bad of a shot am I to miss with a shotgun! I'm dusting off the .12 gauge and plan to vaporize it ASAP. But for next year... mothballs?

Moth Balls. Those things keep everything away.

I use moth balls and mouse and rar poison blocks on the rails and in belly pan. I store my sleds in the barn all summer and critters of some kind would always nest in a sled or 2 until I started using this stuff.
