zl 500 vs indy xc 500

on the ice im pretty sure my 99 zl 500 would win beacuse im studded and the the 03 polaris isnt.. but on the trail, what would win? my zl or my uncles 03 indy xc 500? what would win in the twisties, and what would win in the straights? btw, Im pretty sure thats the model of his sled.. heres a pic of what it looks like, his doesnt have yellow skis or that windshield tho...

I'd give the Cat the nod in the twisties! Flat out it would be a toss up but maybe the Polaris (newer?)

You know you could just bolt 600 jugs and pistons on your 500 and have the head turned out!!

man that sux that ur sled isnt running to great xc sp. Im kinda worried about how my sleds going to run this winter also. Yea that 500 might have VES, so i think it would win. I dont really know for sure though, that just my opinion.

Just so you know a set of pistons and gaskets are about $150 and doing your jugs would be about $350! $500 for a go fast!

I'd say the ZL would take it overall.

Nah ZLs were built for the twisties... the only way the poo would take it would be on a long stretch.

I have a 2001 ZR500 and my son has an XC with VES. Also, I'm studded, and he's not. Mine will take his in the twisties and off the line on hard pack and carves much better, but on the straight his will beat the ZR easily. The ZR tops out around 80, and the XC will do quite a bit more.

The XC 500 did not have the VES in 2003 but that doesn't mean its slow. That motor made huge power without the VES. Seen one go past 100mph with my own eyes (speedo of couse) The edge chassis handled remarkably well for its time too so I am not sure how your ZL will fare. The ZR's were a better handling machine if I am not mistaken. Either way go and try em out and let us know! My money would be on the XC especially if there is any kinds of straights involved.

well i rode my uncles xc.. and off the line, its WAY faster and more throttle responsive... but in the straights, after we hit around 70ish, i start to pull away.. if that makes any sense.. lol
