new trailer deck

I just purchased my first snowmobile trailer. It is a split deck ride on/off with a decent wood deck. they gave me 4 plastic 6" wide runners that are not attached. Should these be used to run the track up on or as ski guides or platforms under the skies.
I guess the deck will get slick without anything for the track to get traction on. Should I get some kind of rubber material.
Looking for suggestions

Thanks
Tyee

Sounds like a good idea kc. How much for the liner materials? That is pretty rugged stuff they use for that.

The 6" wide pieces are definitely ski slides/guides. I run SuperGuides that have a grip pattern on them so you can get off your sled and walk down the trailer/ramp and not slip and slide. Bedlining your deck is not a bad idea, a friend of mine has it. His only complaint is that if snow melts on the deck and gets icy it fills the little pebbling the surface has and his sled still can't bet enough traction to get up the trailer. I used an old track cut up into pieces on mine, and he's going to do the same. The inch high lugs gives my sleds plenty to grab on to.

I've attached a link to a pic of the trailer if you like to see it.

happy trails!!!!
