The 7 year old rides, the 11 year old drives if he has the course certificate.

In VT you have to be 16 or older to cross main roads and you have to have a license to ride the trails... don't know exactly what the age is though. Either way, I'd talk to a trail director if I were you, the fines are pretty mean.

I just have to say this to someone: IT'S SNOWING RIGHT NOW!!!

VT is kinda wierd I know its like most everywhere. You have to be 8 to drive, but from 8-11 you dont need a course certificate, but cannot cross any roads. But when you hit 12 you cant ride anymore until you have the certificate! Then, a 12-15 year old can ride alone in trails but cannot cross roads unless someone 18 years or older is present. From 16 on you can ride alone and cross alone.

i live in the u.p. of Michigan. your kid has to be 12 years old to even take the class. I know i have a 11 year old too. type in Michigan DNR website, there is a page listing snowmobiling or atv or hunting classes by county. good luck.
