A coupla things to look at! Is it reving with out moving the throtle! Air Leak! If it idles ok but as you run it it goes over 8500, then it could be the belt and or a broken driven spring!

It only seems to do it full throttle at high speed.

I suggest that it might be time for a new belt to start with.

OK next how high is it reving? Could be that the belt is just worn (narrowed) or a broken spring in the secondary!

It would rev up to 9000 rpm and it wanted to keep going but i would always let up. I put a new track on last year without studs and I would really notice it on slick dirt roads or trails once i was already up to about 40 or so and punch it. Would i be able to see if the spring is broke in the secondary or do i have to take it apart.

I would look close at the driven clutch and belt!

Ok I tore apart my sled this weekend. I dont really see anything rong with the clutch at all the spring is good and the belt doesnt look to be bad at all. I was told by someone that my secondary should have a little bit of play in it is that true. I am still tring to figure out why this thing is over reving.
