Question 1998 polaris xc 700

I am 17 looking at a Polaris xc 700 it has a few mods like hot seat pipes and baffle carbs have been jetted for pipes. Also has a hot seat equalizer bottle and a hot seat clutch kit. The only thing new on the motor is it has new spi t molly series pistons. The sled it self has 5700 miles on but in really good shape he wants 1500 for it is that a good deal.

The 700 engines in those things were built with the intent of making the first snowmobile go air born and fly to the moon :P.

This sled blue booked for $1805, this is a good deal. I would ask him if he'd let it go for 1300 though because it's going to suck gas real bad.

If it's jetted for twin pipes and has the stock pipe on, you will need to change out the jets to the stock (usually smaller) ones... Clutching may be off as well, as twin pipes change the RPM where the powerband is.

Good news is, you will get better fuel mileage with the smaller jets..

Bad news is, you may not make it to the moon, but it will be close
