hi i am haveing problems with my 74 pather 440 f/c it has no power and makes a wieird like pinging/tickting sound at idle but the plugs are a black not a white color any suggestions?
It is likely that the weight arms are worn and binding which will cause bogging/poor engagement/back shift.
That will have the Artco Hex shaft clutch in it. You can get parts to rebuild it, but you would be better off just replacing it with a newer style (comet) clutch.
