artic cat chassis ident

i am in the market of a artic cat purchase, i need help identifying the different chassis from say 1998 up to 2007, i want to get the most bang for my buck so i would like to be able to id the different chassis. lately i was looking at a lot of zr 2000 to 2004 are these the same? i see alot of zl are these good? any info would be appreciated

OK the 98-99 are a first gen, the 00&01 different chassis same motor, the 01-03 Had a bit wider chassis and the APV powervalve motor! If you can find an 02 ZR600 EFI with or with out ESR (electric start & Rev) would be best bang for buck!

zr and the zl the same?

the zr and the zl the same chassis? but with better shocks for the zr?
is there a plain z in these years.? just trying to make things clear before purchase.

Yes same chassis, different springs and shocks!
Yes there is a Z but it's a fan motor! Same chassis!

thanks for the info, i was able to find some spec / write up on the 02 zr, just like yo said this is the bang for buck sled of this era. i also learned what a ss was (electronic shocks) thanks again!!!

how do you decode a artic cat vin# 4UF01SNW31T120793
it is a 2001 zr - i want to know if it is efi or carb
