Squealing New Carlisle Belt!

Hey guys, I put on a new ...i think its a carlise xtx belt, its supposed to be the top of the line belt that they make. Its definately what royal distr. says is the right belt for my sled. So I started it up....as part of the once a week routine waiting for snow..haha. Anyways the thing squeals like crazy when i put the brake on, and now its progressed to squealing even when its sitting still on the ground. Will this go away after I ride it for a bit or should I be looking for a refund on the belt? thanks guys

You may have toi break it in a little. You mayneed ot install a spacer in the secondary to stop the squealing.

Some say to wash a new belt with hot soapy water! To remove any mold release on them!

Check your belt deflection, a belt too tight will squeel on the primary clutch. If its too short simply exchange it for a longer one.

my dad has a 1998 600 xcsp triple and it did the same thing with a carlisle belt on it, but the old one never did it, and he bought a polaris belt and it never squealed again. but they may have given him the wrong belt too.

Soap and water

I tried the hot water and soap, washing the belt first that is... It didn't squeal for about 5 minutes...then of course continued. I think I'll try and return it for a normal dayco belt instead. Its about 30$ cheaper for one that doesnt squeal?haha
