First Ride of Season!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got back from a short 13 mile jaunt. Although, it was more prairie and ditch riding north of my town. Hopefully, I can get to my normal mountain trail system in the next few days.

I just picked up this 98 ZL500 for $650 a couple of weeks ago. I'm very impressed with it's power and handling. Last sled was a Yamaha SRV540.

Well, sorry to depress those of you without snow, but hopefully you will be experiencing this in the near future too.

I bet you are. If I had your sweet sled, I would be dying to ride it too. The Crossfire would be great where I ride. (Snowy Range) I'm curious, do you still have that SRV. I was pretty fond of mine.

Oh well, it's sunny here, time to clean the gutters

This is pretty funny since I was about to ask you about it! Yes, we still do, although ever since my Dad got his edge in 2006 it hasnt been used much at all, but still runs. He always loved it, and it ran well for him. Ever since about 2002 it started running into problems like bogging, not starting, stalling, rebuilds, etc., until my dad gets his sled. I want to get it running again this year because I wouldn't mind taking it out for a spin every now and then! Thanks for the compliment by the way. I like your ZR too its got a nice color scheme. How has your SRV been to you?

I sold my SRV back in the Spring. I thought I was done with snowmobiling for awhile, as I was spending more and more time in the Winter restoring motorcycles and old classic boats. I only made it 6 months before the snowmobile bug bit me again.

Well glad it did. And apparently it blessed you with an early season! Is the snow suppossed to stick around for awhile?

This time of the year, the weather can flipflop pretty quickly. In the mountains, this should stay quite awhile. Hopefully until the next storm adds to it. It might get into the low 50's next week at my house. I figure I can get a couple more days of riding in. The roads are currently closed to the mountains anyway. Since this morning, it has snowed another 10 inches.

Thumbs up

I'm jealous as all heck! We're teasing right around the freezing mark here in Regina Saskatchewan Canada. It's snowed a few times here but it melts as fast as it comes down.

We don't usually get enough snow to ride until early - mid December and then it's not more than 6 inches until near Xmas.

Good on you, man. Enjoy that new sled!
