I am seriously contemplating getting back into snowmobiling. My last experience was back in the late 80's.

I'm trying to determine if new or used is the way to go. My biggest concern with used is the mileage and the impact of higher mileage has on suspensions. My brother-in-law claims that when a sled gets to about 2,000 miles or so, a suspension rebuild is recommended.

What are concerns about buying a 2008 sled with between 2,000 or 5,000 miles on it? Would I have to rebuild suspensions?

Only if it shows worn or broken parts.
Some have rebuildable shocks that need to be done every 2000 miles depending on how hard they are worked.

If the 80's was your last time on a sled, WOW are you in for a treat!!! A worn out shot 97 suspension will be unbelieveable great to you!!!!!
