2002 mxz no spark

me and my uncle were looking at my ski doo and it had know spark so we picked and we thought that it could be my coil so were tested it this way we took the cables that plug from my computer in to the coil and we took a 12v bulb to see if she had any eletrical cause if she did then my coil is bad but there wasent even 12 v so i was thinking i might have fryed my computer so i am going over to my friends house to try to test it on his one but i was also over to my cousins and he said it could be my stator how could we test it and could it be anything else if you guys could help me at all or any other ideas what it could be

Start with the cheap stuff, check that your DSS is clean and making contact (inserted tightly too). Check that you have the kill switch in the run position.

i check all that i was just changing it so i am going to soder it so the wires are apart i tryed together and apart nothing i checked a of it in cases of ground i really think it is the stator cause ween you try and haul her over the lights are supost to flicker and there is nothing cause the power for your light i am petty shore are supost to come stright from the stator and i cant even get 12v that sucks

I took a multi-meter and put the testers on the positive and the negative connections leading from the stator. If you get any substantial charge then it is probably the coil. At least that's what it was for me.
