It is not hard to take the primary clutch off but if it is in working order why even mess with it. i have this same sled only its a 91. the suspension does not have alot of rise, however if you replace your shocks you will notice the difference. This sled came with hydraulic shocks but i would replace them with gas shocks. I replaced all mine for about 200 bucks. I ordered them threw dennis kirk. you can get windshield from dennis kirk too. they are online. Great source for parts on these older sleds and they have pretty good prices. I would be happy to help you with any other questions you can PM and i will respond.

my old clutch that was on there had no bushings and the metel was so corroeded. and thats why i put a newer clutch on there that works awesome. i did put a xtra 10 shock up front on the rear suspension and newer hydrolics up front. this sled is VERY nice for its age and it will rip!!!

Replace the speedometer and don't say a word XD

Lol I personally would not buy it for that price if it has over 5k miles... that's not to say someone else wouldn't. You did put a lot of work into it so maybe someone out there has an engine that would fit but not the sled itself. (Or they have the same sled but want a spare for parts.)

well. 5004 miles is not a lot for a 20 yr old sled. it works out to sumthin like 250 miles a year
well i want to sell it badly so i can get my newer sled

It's not a lot for it's year, no. But if someone is buying it and they want it to be reliable, they won't want a 5k engine.

The price is fair for the age and mileage.

So try "800 or best offer" and if anyone offers less than 600 tell them that you've got a better offer already. :P

i have the exact sled i just baught it in febuary 2009 for 700$ the guy wanted 1000$ there was nothing wrong with except the steering was loose. So i would say around 500$ For one it is the summer time. Sled tend to go for higher during the prime riding. wait till first snow fall so that people will look at it and say i want a sled now!!!!. Then they will be more motivated buyers. I know this from experience. I sold a 89 exciter that was not working righ and looked like a piece of shit for 800$ O well good luck with your selling if you still have the sled.

No that'd sell great even at 800. It may be a while because people aren't looking for snowmobiles so heavily right now but it would definitely go fast in the fall.

That's what I'm trying to do too. We have to get the same model and see who can rebuild it the quickest and sell it for the biggest profit lol.
