Swapping Engines?

Hey guys Ive got a 1995 583 Formula Z that i just rebuilt last year... new pistons, crank bearings the works and now she can go.... but for next season i want to get a lighter sled with around the same power or more.... i was thinking of swapping my new engine into a smaller chassis so I dont have to spend alot of money on a new sled and i dont have to let my new engine go to waste. My plan is a summer project to put my new 583 engine into a 1997 mxz 440 chassis. She could be a nice little sleeper and lighter too. My only question is do you guys think the engine would fit? Also if it does what carbs and airbox should i use? Thanks

Should fit.... I cannot say for sure so measure the mounts. You would have to at least use the 583 Carbs, but I bet you can get away with the 440 airbox if the 583 does not fit.

no the formula has the old heavy whale style chassis and the mxz has a newer lighter chassis.... i love the 583 engine and it has always been good to me and had power... i just want to find a lighter chassis to throw it into to possibly get a little more fun on my sled and for ripping around... im either doing that or if i find a good deal on a 1997-2002 600 or 700 range sled... preferably ski-doo
