Ok I just ordered my new 2010 mxz-x 600etec can any of you 09 owners give me some feedback on this engine? my 03 mxz- x 800 has been the best sled I have ever owned and never once has let me down so I hope this new engine will be as reliable! I am giving the 03 to my girlfriend and selling my vmax that she usually rode.

I almost went with the 800r but when you look at the numbers the etec builds as much horsepower as my 03 did and its almost 50 pounds lighter. And the better fuel mileage will mean I may actually be able to pass a gas station from time to time something I could never do with the 800. Only changes I plan to make right off is a taller windshield and tunnel stiffeners.

Can Anyone offer anything else I might want to change/add on this sled?

some love the etech some hate it, i dont think it could put out as much HP as the 800, the thing that i worrie about that engine is that they claim so little oil use,???? sounds good on paper but.....

maybe the etech will finally be a sled that doo made that wont blow up! lmao jk.... if i were to go buying anything, i woulda held off another few years so they could work out any little bugs they have

From everything I 've readit's even better than the SDI! And it had lotsa power, 125! and great milage, 22-24 and great oil consumpsion! And the Etec is better!
