Welcome to the Forum!
Most of the time, the problem with an engine that will start ok but won't idle can be traced to the pilot jet circuit. I would clean the carbs, making sure you clean out the air and fuel passageways to the pilot jet. Set the air screw to one turn out from lightly seated as an initial setting on reassembly.
If you are unfamiliar with carbs, check out the sticky on the engine/driveline part of the forum, there are a bunch of really good "how to"s on that thread.
