Polaris clutch

Hello, can anyone tell me the difference between a blue polaris clutch spring and a silver Polaris clutch spring??? I have a 99 xc 500 with a blue spring and was going to put in a clutch from a 99 xc 700 with a silver spring, will this work?? Also are the weights the same? Thank you

The silver spring has an initial force of 75 lbs. with a fully shifted force of 243 lbs.

The blue spring has an initial force of 120 lbs with a fully shifted force of 300 lbs.

THe difference is very large, you will have to spin that 500 a LOT faster for it to engage, and your top RPM will drastically change. You will probably not have enough HP to get a full shift, and if you do, the engine will over-rev big time. There is a tremendous difference in HP from the 500 to the 700. The weights and springs are designed to work with the engine HP to give you the RPM where maximum HP occurs pretty much immediately after engagement. You should probably stick with the stock settings, or at least somewhat the same. I would recommend you take the springs and weights out of the 500 clutch and install 'em in the 700 clutch if you intend on using the clutch on the 500.
