Need help choosing a helmet.

Alright so i have been browsing the internet for a while now looking for a new helmet for next season. I have decided i want an open face helmet like the MX or ATV ones with a decent pair of goggles. The only thing i dont know is if say i buy a fox helmet which seems to be more MX based, will the wind/snow just go right through it and make my face freezing.

Fox Racing Inc
^^
^^That is the helmet I'm looking at buying i just need you guys opinion.

I have a mx helmet and i ride in 35 below with a low windshield. My head never really gets cold. For me the MX helmets are the way to go. Be sure you get a good pair of goggles that wont fog as well. I have some scott snomobile goggles and they are the best that i have seen.

I am tossing around the idea of going with a MX helmet as well. I've been riding for a while with a full face and the one I have starting fogging up last year...to the point that it was icing on both sides of the shield. I have been a snowboarder for many years and have used goggles with my helmet with no issues with fogging. I have often wondered if my goggles would fog with a MX helmet. They are made by Smith and are designed for winter sports. I ride with a couple of guys that have MX helmets and they say the goggles are crucial to be a happy rider. They only wear a thin balaclava under the helmet and stay warm, so they say. I may borrow a buddy's helmet this year and see how I like it before I drop the coin for a helmet.

This topic comes up every couple of months, it seems. I don't see very many riders with MX helmets where I ride, I'd say maybe 2%.

I use an Mx helmet for sledding but I found that you must wear a balaclava under it to keep your mouth, nose, chin warm.My friend made the mistake of not weraring one and got frost bite really bad on his nose. The only time that i didnt wear one was when it was really warm in the spring time.
