Gotta be tempered steel or you WILL break it and likely in the clutch. Pullers are and handy tool to have around and compared to the headache of not having one, cheap. Just my .02

You can always take it to a dealer and have them yank it off. It might cost you $20.00 bucks but if they screw something up, not your issue.

closest arctic cat dealer is 50 miles away.......
Im probally gonna drop the engine back in and get it running, you can pull the crank seal with the engine installed. I pulled the other side apart and replaced that seal.

Buy the puller tool. Cheap investment for a lifetime of use.

I've heard of people pulling the clutch by filling the hole with either grease or water and then using the 3/4" bolt with an impact wrench. It pops the clutch off hydraulically.

It can be done by one person.
I have always started the piston into the cyl and then attached the wrist pin. Just make sure that you have it in the right way.

oh geez guess what? I tried putting the cylinders on after the pistons were installed, no way would the cylinder slide on. I took the pistons off, and finally got the right cylinder & piston all bolted up nice and pretty.
THEN I snapped a ring on the left piston while trying to get the piston in the cylinder. The stock rings wont fit these wiseco pistons.....so I gotta get some new rings. These engines are ghey how the headbolts dont screw into the block like my atv engine. These are always in the way.
snow will be gone by the time I get this stupid POS together

It gets frustrating when you don't use the right tools or the right parts!!

Maybe a stupid question, but I had to take the cylinder heads off my Polaris 700 engine recently... am I going to have a really hard time getting the cylinders back on over the pistons due to the rings? I could do one at a time and that might help as far as having enough hands... any thoughts?
Oh and I completely agree with IndianRvr... if I had the right tools in the first place I wouldn't have had to take the cylinder off.

put the pistons in the cylinders first, then side the cylinder and piston down and connect the rod to the piston. its a biotch to get the cylinder on when the pistons already hooked up.
