New 2009 skidoo ,1200 4 stroke, 600 2 Stroke

Did everyone go on the skidoo web site and check out the new skidoo 1200cc 4-TEC AND the new 600 H.O E-TEC.

The new four stroke already blew everyone else away.

Think of it this way...there first hi performance 4 stroke has been very successful so far...they just came out with the most clean and efficient 2 stroke ever built and have 3 new chassis out. I think they are trying to be the best and then some(and are)...

Bombardier is helping the whole snowmobile world out by doing this. They are saving the two stroke and making it adaptable to the new green laws. My hats off to them.

It doesn't hurt that they own Evinrude who developed the E-tec fuel system either and are able to use the patented system on their sleds. This is the area where the other manufacturers are at a disadvantage. Hats off to all of them in trying to maintain the sport against all the opposition from the tree huggers. Don't get me wrong, I'm a environmentalist from way back, I just like my toys too.

HA! Ski-Doo E-Tec? It's exactly what we were all saying about 4- vs 2-stroke recently, and now its here! It will save the 2-stroke because it's as clean as the 4's... I believe it's BRP (bombardier) though that is the parent company of both... anyway it's great technology.

BRP has also recently spent something like 10+ million dollars on a new research and development plant in Austria. I look forward to seeing even more innovations .
An auto tinting windshield would be nice. Carry over the tech from eye glasses.

How much power is the 600 supposed to have. I noticed that the tnt wnet above thier 399 pounds from last year as well. It will still be a very light machine.

It's amazing how powerful/efficient a 600cc 2 stroke has become!

Some guys like the 2 foot tall 'grandpa' windshield

...j/k next season I think i'll be putting my larger windshield back on, on the -30 days my helmet fogs up and my chin freezes... Every other day I'm too hot even with all the vents open, there's just no winning.

Direct injection gives better fuel/air mixing. (requires less fuel for the same power)

I dont want to be a negitive nelly or anything, but do we really know if these engines are going to stand up to the test of time? I think its a great idea and all but I'm going to hold my praise until they can proove that there not going to fly to peices in the first 5000kms. A+ for effort though.
