Come on guys be realistic. The cat is a better handling sled IN THAT CHASIS than the doo. The cat has decent suspension, WHEN IT WORKS. That suspension has the same shock as the zr I believe which was problematic In my opinion, I think the doo is more reliable.

If I were you, I would look for a doo rev, 600 HO. They can be had around here cheap, as long as they have the crank retainer upgrade, they last FOREVER and are the best all around sled PERIOD. I personally challenge anyone to show me a better handling all around sled than my 800 rev.....I wouldnt even give it up fpr the new z, plain and simple.

Keep it rubber side down, shiny side up, and between the ditches...........

lol I have no bias towards what I ride.. xept yammys, no particular good reason ever, i just HATE how they look and im not into 4 strokes.

that yellow snow joke was bad, corny, etc. but it just came to me :P

I've heard great things about the iqs and the shift line, being dependable and crank out speed like no ones business. and as for the ski-doos, no bad comments, and around here its a huge mix of sleds, cats and polaris' have roughly the same amount of customers from what ive seen, all great performing sleds. but chances are when you see that guy in the ditch, hes riding an mxz of some sort, or xcrs and indys

Strongly disagree with dirty ditches, polaris indy was prolly the most bullet proof STCOK sled E V E R made. XCR had some problems witht the cranks going bad, but I personally had TWO indys, i put 8800 miles, YES THATS EIGHT THOUSAND MILES on that sled and NEVER had the motor apart. I had to have the suspension rebuilt at about 6k, and had to put a new track on about 7k, BUT THAT WAS IT!!!!!

Problem with the indy is that people were putting a pipe on the sleds, didnt know how to do a correct plug chop and never noticed that the center cylinder would create GOBS more heat. Sure fire way to a motor going downhill.

Keep it rubber side down, shiny side up, and between the ditches...........

I can tell you from experience. Usually the 440 sno pro beats me in a drag race.

BUT I have 2300 miles on original motor, and still runs like beautifully. Most of my friends w/ sno pros are on their 3rd top end by 2300 miles!

For me, I'd rather be riding than wrenching. Personal preference I guess.

imo all the new sleds 08-09 (artic cat, ski-doo, polaris, yamaha) all make UGLY sleds!! Just look at the new artic cat sno pro's, they are ugly as hell!! The new phazers are ugly, the iq's are okay looking and the ski-doo's are decent. The 03-07 ski-doos are the nicest looking sleds imo.

correct me if i'm wrong, but back in 97 cats 440 made 90 hp..
and i'm not certain but i beleive the fircat chassis made 110...
and if you don't beeleive that if there f5s made 110 why couldnt there 440 race tuned motors make it?
and doo's was a bit lower then the cat,

my mxz 600 was a great sled, had almost 6000 miles on it when i got rid of it,still ran like new,was supposed to have 105 hp,where the rev is supposed to have 115,but the 99 mxz 670 ho had like 128 wouldnt mind having one thats what i was looking for when i got my mach z,i like my doos ,thats becouse when i went to buy my first sled i test rode an artic cat,98 zr,to this day that was the worst riding ,worst handling thing i have ever been on,im sure that that was just a bad experience with artic cat,but ive never experienced that on a skidoo, plus ive had to do very little maintenance, and they always start right up and perform great for me,the new sleds are just to expensive for my blood and im with the other guy they just dont look good,im sure it will grow on me eventually, sorta like the new camaro, looks cheap and costs to much

dont like the fart can crap,im just a ford guy,my mustang has 450 rwhp plus nitrous, changing it over to a 351 so i can get around 650,but i have a whole lot less than 50 grand into my car,i also dont want to spend 35 grand and only have a v6,but im sure i wont buy a new car ever again anyways ,i just dont have good luck with chevy products so i stay away from them, thats how i am about the artic cat,if you like them more power to you myself ill stick with ford and skidoo,as for yamaha, once i got mine started it ran great, but i was usually to wore out by that time to take it for a long trip.
