whats the minimum amount of snow you should ride on?

Well, Like the title said. With the low amount of snow we have been getting here in the thumb of michigan, How much should there be before you ride?

Since where I am, we usually have only a little snow, I will not go unless there is at least 6" on the ground.

Well last week we had 4 inches and I rode in it. It was wet and after about 6 passes I was wearing out the snow. Snow was real wet. For the first few passes it was business as usual. I discovered that dirt=slow . No damage but its not the same ride.

I ride my EXT whenever there's enough snow to keep it cool, a couple of times this year with less than an inch. Course it's 17 years old and has been rode hard. My newer ones don't see snow with less than 4 or 5 inches.

around here, they wont open the trail until theres at least a foot of snow. ill drive around the backyard on only 2"-3". i live a few miles from a few big fields, so ill load the sled in the truck, bring it to the fields and ride around on 6".

I'll ride green if im desperate but its expensive for long runs. 4" around the yard to neiborhood quick runs only. really what ever i can get away with with out ruining the sled once the dirt starts showing im out.

i don't have a standard to drive on, but my skies were slightly digging into dirt, but mostly riding on ice, the last time i rode. My temp gauge was a little high, but she was consistent so i kept on.
