i was recently out riding the trail from farwell michigan to cadillac michigan when my sled just out of the blue quit. i have had the coil, the cdi box and the stater checked all good. so i bypassed the killswitch and the ignition and it fires. what would be next in the process of eliminaton? any useful thoughts would be appreciated. thanks only riding in the day in coleman michigan.

i am not sure what you are asking. You said that it quit but when you jump the kill switch it runs? Doesn't that mean the kills switch is the problem?

You are the only other person i have seen that owns the 93 ext 580z. here is a picture of mine before i sold it

Reconnect each of the switches individually to find the problem. It is most likely the throttle safety switch.

Was that the original color? I've never seen an all red cat!

Yeah hook the 4 way back up and go through all the kills, Ignition switch, tether, kill switch, throtle lever safty, and carb saftey!
