over filled chain case...

M orning Guys, when I got home last night i saw that my level was down so decided to fill it then as it is supposed to be brutally cold today. I am not mechanical and am pretty sure I put too much in. How big of a deal is that???
Also, how big of a job is it to replace the gasket on the chain case cover?
Thanks in advance for your answers, Russ

The only thing about draining it is the mess! On cats I drill a hole in the belly pan at the lowest point, then put a tob under to cautch oil! Starting at the bottom remove the bolts, when you get to the top 2 just loosen them, pop the bottom out just enough to get it to drain slowly! Take the cover off and clean and inspect everything! Cats have a reuseable cover gasket, but I know some Yamahas have a paper gasket! At any rate once clean you can use Permetex to seal it up!

Most arctic cats have a drain plug on the inside of the tunnel. Just unscrew and let it drain.

For the chaincase oil, it depends on how much you added, if its really full you will have problems, if its a little over. Just leave it.

How much did you overfill it? If it's only an ounce or two, don't worry about it.
