Never snowmobile alone

I was to meet up with my friend Tom Eastman at his fish lake cabin in lake Wenatchee, Washington state to go snowmobiling, on my way up his girlfriend called and said he was gone all night and they couldent find him, he didnt take his backpack or cell phone, I went as fast as i could to the snow park by thier cabin, unloaded my sled and started riding to find him, I finally came around a corner to find him, hurt and cold , he had been there for 13 hours after hitting a fogout and then a tree, pulled this leg socket completely out and many fractrues in his pelvis & hypothermic, I called for 911 rescue and went to the snow park to get blankets to warm him, when I got someone to him I took off to the hiway to flag the paramedics and ambulance as I didnt really know where I was, he was about 100 yards off the cascade hideaway road about a half mile from his cabin, he had went to the air strip last night to watch snowmobile races, got turned around in the fog and wrecked, NEVER NEVER SNOWMOBILE ALONE if I had not found him he may not be here, he is at Harborview now getting surgery, I am praying for him

I'm so glad this has a fairly happy ending! The last story still haunts me, and to think the guy didn't even know the other guy! And he gave up sleding! As I told him I gotta say dude you are a real life HERO!

Wow!
A graphic tale with a happy ending, thanks to you. It probably was a very long night for him indeed but how funny that he knew who was truly his best friend in his most dire time of need. You saved his life but somehow he knew you would...weird.

I, First off am glad to hear you found him and took care of him. About 2 months ago I took a safety class with my 11 year old daughter. The two main things not to do is drink alcohol when riding and sled alone. I know it is hard to find a companion sometimes and is very tempting to go alone. You hear of horror stories all the time about these two things. Safe rides to all. Hope all is well.

Thank God it worked out! Did he lose the trail in the fog?

yes, he was only 5 minutes from his cabin, lost his way in the fog he came around a corner and lost the trail, he hit hard enough to completely rip the suspension off the left side, when we pulled it back it just fell off, I know he has insurance on his sled, I hope to god he has personal injury on it, as he is goning to have a tone of medical and rescue bills, he said well it was just a short distance to the airstrip, to me 5 minute ride,it dosnt matter, things happen, especially at night in the fog, to easy to get turned around and lost, and always have a gps or at least a cell phone, rescue can pinpoint you with cell phone tracking, I personally would never never ride alone,
