better footing while riding

What kinds of things can i do to the area you put your feet down on the snowmobile to get better traction while standing and what not, without drilling holes and putting bolts or screws or anything like that? i was thinking maybe some kind of spray on rubber or some kind of bed liner paint maybe? My feet slip and slide all around its nothing but bare aluminum right now with some diamond shaped bumps that are punched into the metal and they don't hold my feet at all. I just don't like the idea of screws going through my running boards

I've used that stick on black sandpaper like stuff that you see on stairs sometimes. They sell it in hardware stores.

Once the ice builds up on the grip tape though. You'll be back to square one. Slipping and sliding all around. Really the only other way is to rivit the traction plates on your running boards. Speedwerx makes real small ones that don't take over the whole running board.

Buy a Polaris with the heat exchangers under the running boards. Mine never freeze up.

thx for the suggestions, i think i will go for the grip tape for now and try it out, like i said i really don't like the idea of drilling holes in my running boards but if it comes down to it, i will because i don't wanna slip and fall off the sled or hurt myself some other way. Went up a steep hill sideways yesterday and all most fell off it because my boots were slipping.

If it doesn't ever get iced up the grip tape should work just fine for you then.
